Super Bed Ideal for German Shepherd

Look at this bed. Great for summer and winter. I have one very like this one. I love it. One problem is that I can't chew it. A special Christmas present for a special German Shepherd somewhere.

Dinner at the Show 10 November 2012

On 10 and 11 November 2012 the GSD Ferderation of South Africa, Algoa Club, held a Breed Survey and Breed Show at the Club in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. The Judge was Dr. Wolfgang Lauber from Germany. Dr. Lauber was accompanied by his wife, Elizabeth.

There was a dinner at the Club on Saturday night. I didn't go but John and Patricia did. I heard them talking about the dinner. They said the company was fun as usual. There was a wide assortment of food - stews, curries, salads and rolls. There was also ice cream.

I wish I had been at the dinner. I would have got stuck into all that food - when Iris wasn't watching!

Birds Celebrate the New Day at Kromme River, South Africa.

We German Shepherds notice things. I have noticed that the birds at Kromme begin to sing in the darkness before dawn. What faith that the light of dawn is surely coming! And when the day dawns how the birds sing and rejoice! Watch and listen to this video. Rejoice with the birds. And remember, when your troubles seem to cover you with darkness, in time your dawn will come too and you will rejoice again. All will be well.

More of Paradise - the Kromme River

I was back in my corner of paradise last week - near the southern most tip of Africa. I really love going to the Kromme river. I take Patricia, John and Louise (Patricia's mother) along as well. They love it too. Check out the video of me swimming at the end of this blog.

Me Swimming? Of Course! Just watch.
We German Shepherds love the water.
Note how I allow for the tide by swimming out left of the stick.
Smart?

You thought only Labs could swim!

See you soon.

Back in Paradise

Last Thursday I was at the Kromme River again (yes I am lucky). It is almost at the southern most point of Africa. It's like paradise for me. I can run and sniff where I like. I swim in the river (tidal, eight miles to the sea). I even chased some naughty monkeys. And, guess what? The very naughty baboons may have bent the satellite dish! Not good news for John and Patricia watching the Ryder Cup. Here are some pictures.

Hi
Here is a wonderful story about a fellow German Shepherd called Capitan from the Argentine in South America.
Humans may be amazed at such loyalty. I am not - loyalty until death is a the core of our genes.
Capitan - I salute you. Good luck.

German Shepherd's Lesson for Owner

Hi
I have been fetching the paper in the morning for sometime now. John thinks I just automatically obey! No way! We German Shepherds are always the boss. John took this video  on 11th Septemner 2012 to show how subservient and obedient I am. I know what he wants: Lap dog obedience. What a joke. Watch how I tease John before I take the paper to Patricia. Wise up guys! I am number One! I am in charge!
Indy

Sorry about the portrait mode. I thought John knew the difference between landscape mode and portrait mode. Oh well, he can't help being a slow learner. These things are sent to try us German Shepherds.
PS I am just over 18 months old now. As we German Shepherds know this is when we really must stamp our authority on our owners. Don't tell John and Pat!
Bye

Gang playing golf 2 weeks from 95 - 16 August 2012

Perhaps you didn't believe me when I told you that Patricia's mom plays golf at almost 95. Here she is playing a "bump and run" approach shot at the 11th hole at the Port Elizabeth Golf Club, South Africa. Note the ball on its way to the green. 16 August 2012.
