I have decided to take over this bed as my bed. John and Patricia think it is their bed. Don't they know "might is right"? The trouble is that I have heard them plotting how to get me off the bed. I hope they give me a treat every time I obey and get off the bed. What a pleasure. I will keep jumping on the bed just to get a "get off" treat every time. That will fool them. What might work is if they simply pick me up and put me off the bed. If they do that all the time I may give up the idea of getting on the bed at all.
Secret: I have asked a few other German Shepherds if they like it on a bed. They all say they do. Some whisper they their owners do allow them to sneak on the bed sometimes. Shush ........ No names no pack drill!
Any comments from my fellow German Shepherds? Owners can comment too but remember I monitor comments from non-German Shepherds.
PS I also like the couch in the TV room.
This is my own blog. I am a female German Shepherd. My name is "Indy". I was born on 21st January 2011. I live with my family in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Comments are most welcome - especially from other dogs. Scroll down for earlier posts - especially for background to my blog. Please read the opening posts: Welcome, my stepbrother Benjie and Tess. Do any German Shepherds know any tricks owners use to keep us off beds?
ReplyDeleteNow Indy, this message is for John and Patricia and not you! I would create a comfy spot (doggie pillow/futon) in the room as an alternative for the young lady to get comfy on; get her off the bed and to that spot before she gets her treat with a cue word e.g. get to your corner,or, get to your bed etc. Repetition, repetition, repetition x 30. Let us know how it goes, and Indy - no cheating.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea - I will tell John and Patricia to get me something really comfy - thanks for the suggestion. - Indy
